Why Property Verification Is Crucial When Buying Real Estate in Nigeria

Buying property in Nigeria without verification is like driving blindfolded — risky, dangerous, and potentially costly. Fraudsters, fake land agents, double sellers, and incorrect documentation are common traps. Verification protects your money and ensures legal ownership.

1. Verify Ownership at Land Registry

This confirms:

If litigation exists

Who owns the land

Whether the property is under government acquisition

If it has been sold multiple times

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I
found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter
and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the
shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it
pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
